"It makes so much sense," Steve, a homeless Marine veteran who is terminally ill, said of the concept of Joshua's House. "Homeless people don't have access to hospice care to provide comfort and dignity in our last days. We become invisible, ignored, forgotten. We often live and die on the streets without even our family knowing of our passing."
Joshua's House staff and volunteers are committed to connecting residents with families when desired and residents will be able to keep their pets whenever possible. They will have access to music, art and writing therapy, a small library, private rooms and a community room for social activities.
